the nuke bomb debunking has ruined my enjoyment of metro games i mean, the games are fun, but the whole story is *cough* i like the dark ones tho, they seem kinda inspired at least stalker games it's about fallout from a nuclear reactor. that's actual fax, but ironically, 30 years after they sealed up the sarcophagus the animals are breeding and the apples are not making a geiger counter tick. the number of things that are punching holes through the nuclear fission chain reaction story are getting quite out of control. chinese steel is a poison attack, also, btw... it contains a much higher level of radioisotopes than most other sources of steel. plus it rusts. probably because it would make a geiger counter tick at least on average 30 seconds. the stuff about cancer and uranium and plutonium are totally legit, as is the formation of I131 and Cs137. poisons. i repeat. POISONS. not explosives. but also quite effective at making a lot of heat without CO2 but with a higher chemical pollution cost. anyway, bleh. metro. bleh. i had such fun times playing that game. it has some great game mechanics but i just can't do geiger counters and nuke bombs anymore.

you want nukes aren't real?
Seen this book around. Took a peak once and seemed a bit out there. You think it's true?
i think that the official story is not true the physics problem and the ballistics and mathematics of it. it's a complete fraud, nuclear decay is not akin to combustion. combustion does chain reactions, because of heat energy. nuclear collisions and fission are not driven by heat energy, they... show more
I'll admit the idea is fascinating. To spoof the whole thing to trick our enemies and the masses into living under fear of such powerful weapons. Would be biggest conspiracy ever imo, and there's something believable about it when you stop and think. But haven't taken time to read much since I'd... show more
i couldn't stop reading it until i was finished. i will warn you, the later part about japan is a bit harrowing but he paces it very nicely. i would have probably framed the mathematical modeling part of it a lot more concisely because i'm fairly deep into understanding big numbers and... show more
once you understand that uranium, and plutonium, are just a heat and radiation source and potential poison. you won't read the news the same ever again. this is a watershed for me. after this, all i see is the Grand Chessboard and people being moved around by the hegelian dialectic, which is the... show more
You hate ai slop, but too bad
haha, nice
can i buy one of that and store it on murica nevada as an llc? - ah...
It's primarily what led me to think that chemical, biological and energy warfare are much more concerning than a nuclear 'threat', which we can prepare for or mitigate in some capacity. Whereas with the nuke narrative, it largely seems hopeless to defend against so it's a great story for fear.
yeah... i should give you the link to the text i read. i was sold, the holes were wide enough to drive an aircraft carrier through: archive.org/details/8d-0de-2/mode/2up
That's the book I shared that piqued your interest the other day, which someone else here suggested some months back. It's certainly compelling and what made me really doubt the story.
yeah, it was absolutely overflowing with more than enough holes in the story for my taste. catching liars and fallacious arguments has been a big interest of mine for now about 15 years. it went on a major level up in 2021 when i realised i had been falling for a bunch of classic scams for years... show more
