Katahdin hair sheep are half way done with their first grazing of the pastures at the homestead
The sheep have completed grazing another pasture in 10 days, still moving at a fast pace. There are still a few ewes left waiting to have their lambs but the majority are born now. ... show more
This episode of QW plebchain radio is really good. Shooter has a great perspective especially given the recent bullshit. Stay sovereign, stay ungovernable, and keep building your #meshtadel podverse.fm/episode/4ys4ksAv2
Setting a swarm trap to catch wild honey bees
Found a wild honey bee hive in the hollow of a cherry tree while packing up the maple sap collection buckets in late winter. Now that there are pollen and nectar flows for the honey bees they may swarm. I've setup a swarm trap within the... show more
Katahdin hair sheep moving to a new pasture in the heart of lamb season
The sheep have moved on to a new pasture after 9 days on the last one. Each pasture should take about 15 days to graze but the we tend to move the sheep a little more quickly on the first pass of the season to be sure they don't over graze. This paddock I made extra large instead of the normal size. That way I can leave them in the same place longer instead of moving them every day or two. I'm thinking they will be in this paddock for 5-7 days. We like to keep the sheep moving to break the parasite cycle and to more evenly distribute the fertility and impact of the flock on the pastures, so 7 days is as long as we want to keep them in the same place. 4 days is what we've found to be ideal for us. ... show more

Using rams to mow the lawn
My lawn mower is broken so I decided to use our rams to graze down the grass in our back yard instead. They will probably have the job done in a couple days, then back into the sugar bush to keep the undergrowth down for next seasons maple sap collection. ... show more
Solar powered hashing at full potential during solar eclipse.
Finally got everything setup to mine with a full s19 on solar power at the yurt. Ironically, it was on a day where the moon blocked out the sun for a solar eclipse. Now that I know the system can handle the s19 running on 110v, the next step is to get better automation for modulating the miner based on the available power. ... show more

Wild honey bee hive discovery
Observe and Interact, while collecting the maple sugaring equipment from the woods I noticed honey bees frequently landing on the buckets to drink some of the sweet sap. There was so many of them around, I thought the hive must be somewhere nearby. I made... show more
I completely agree with you Mark Camper. Poor choices in spending Bitcoin reveal waste in my personal lifestyle too. I've also been thinking in terms of resilience and increasing sovereignty. If spending Bitcoin isn't going to make more Bitcoin, increase resilience or sovereignty then I'm less... show more
