People are self hosting all sorts of music and getting boosts.
Also bandcamp is awesome. Best place to buy cassettes imho.

Ooh, thank you! Bandcamp is always the first place for me, too. Pretty much all of my recent music collection happened there.
Too bad most folks have been spotified.. that "service" is pure cancer imo
