Having learned about Cock Ale this morning, I am now idea-noodling menu ideas for a Restoration Feast thrown by the New Management for their favourites (attendance mandatory). A cheese board with Casu martzu, well-hung pheasant ... Nattō would fit the theme but sadly wouldn't have been available in 1700. What else can I inflict on my miserable courtiers?
