If we are going to be an interplanetary species, the notion of nation-states will be so silly! Imagine future generations hearing we divided ourselves and fought wars over the dumbest shit. Anyway, end game I agree with jack no state is the best game. You may be surprised to hear me, in many regards a progressive, say this. I’m a progressive in some regards because I believe, between now and a stateless existence in the future, the least the state can do is work for the good of the people, not the benefit of Wall Street leeching off the system of bailouts and fiat corruption, or leeching off developing nations resources. It’s why I ultimately consider myself a libertarian socialist, from that realm of anarchism. But in our day to day world I see the role progressive liberals play for now, while I always strive for anarchical ideals. There’s a path there, but I don’t want it happening over night given the horrendous toll that would take on millions and perhaps billions of people. We need a plan. Metaphorically, we need a giant bunker built so that when shit hits the fan we’re ready. And fam, the world isn’t ready right now.
