The next step, while the glue dries on the frames, is cutting the mats with the CNC matcutter. I prefer to cut my mats with reverse bevels. I like the clean sharp edge & the undercut casts a little shadow that adds depth to the mounting. I'm not doing it here, but this matcutter will cut all sorts of stock designs & you can even scan images into it for it to cut. An example might be your favorite sports team's logo. 4/12

Next I hinge mount (not shown) the prints to a sheet of 3/16" acid free foamcore & then AGT tape the mats over the image onto the foam. Then I cut them out. I don't do the hingy flippy floppy thing you see many framers do. (That is, hinge the mat to the foam like a book.) All three of the pieces have double mats. Two are "Bob Specials," where I separate the two mats with a layer of foamcore to give a feeling of extra depth. Can you tell which ones? 5/12
