Harsh Platypus I don't think you realise how destructive Thatcher's politics were tbqh, praising her is a betrayal of Labour voters that will imo massively backfire here, describing her politics as "entrepreneurial" is itself a gross distortion of what she represented and represents, it's not a game, these are issues that literally destroyed lives within living memory

Excited Loon As a child of teachers who grew up on a steady stream of CND marches, I've a fairly good idea. But - as a lifelong Labour voter - this is our problem. We'd rather be ideologically pure than achieve anything meaningful. Theory wins over practice. A small sop to the people who read the Telegraph is hardly an epic betrayal. It's a means to an end. It detoxifies the prospect of a Labour government. We can be like Corbyn and say "I don't read The Sun" - but I don't think that wins elections.
