Giant Dinosaur I think the main selling point for me is account portability. It’s something Mastodon should really look into. The ability to easily move between instances without loss of data, or being at the mercy of two instances to get it to happen is too fragile. Setting up your own instance is not an option for most of us. Another is discoverability, search, full follow list, as well as being able to pick algorithms that suit you (separate form your chronological timeline) to discover new posts.
