The widow and three young children of firefighter Eden As'ad, who was killed alongside Dekel Mordechai when they attempted to rescue a young person who had fallen into a septic pit in Deir al-Asad in 2023, are demanding compensation from the state. The family's lawsuit claims that a 'chain of negligent events' led to the death of the firefighters - and that the state is failing to provide them with adequate support: 'Without compensation, it will be very difficult'.
