i don't know who might need to hear this, but: if you have an external SSD that you're using with Final Cut Pro, and the upgrade to Sonoma has caused it to randomly unmount and remount, making editing impossible: inserting a $20 powered usb-c hub between the drive and the computer totally fixed it for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ write speed is unaffected; read speed is still enough for ProRes HQ @ 8K/24 (how wild is it that apple has let this issue go unfixed through a v3 version of an OS? bonkersssss 😳)
