Lovely Penguin if there was a market for it I'd happily have Ablative host shared (registration enabled) or turnkey/dedicated instances but like you say payment remains an issue. The gatekeepers remain the same, "blast radius" could be reduced by having each seller having their own Stripe account or whatever but it's still problematic. Certain cryptocurrencies are brilliant for evading gatekeeper control but adoption is low and there are ethical concerns that will keep some folks away.
