I remember watching an anime (forget the name) and there was this internet chat app where a bubble would appear and chat bubbles would start to bubble off of it. eventually you could zoom out to see a huge 2d-plane of discussions, where everytime a new chat appeared the entire thing would get bigger as a whole. It was a cool way to visualize multi-threaded discussions that was different than the typical tree-like or linear structures. I've always wanted to make something like that, nostr might be an interesting protocol to try it on.
