realizing that scientists thoroughly studied this in the same way that they studied every other piece of the universe casts a sobering effect on me. probably because i'm for the first time seeing the people i most respect treating the subject rationally (with purpose) rather than emotionally (with jokes and perversion and disgust). gives me faith tbh.
