hmm well there are all kinds of different communities and incentives to be a member of different communities... online or irl but generally the deciding factor of why people end up in a particular community is because *they want to be with the other people who are there.* its entirely possible the great majority of people are busy with their own lives and the groups they are a part of and aren't super interested in breaking free of their narrow perspectives. maybe I'm wrong just a thought.
