well... copper is over $4/pound.... cha ching. In the 90's, an area that I supported had hard drawn copper overhead power lines... the locals would occasionally take a log chain, throw it over the wire (while it was live), and pull it down... roll it up and it "disappeared". It happended whenever scrap prices were high. same for AC units copper coils (but at least this was less dangerous).
