I say this as someone who has spent the last few months compressing torrents down to 2-3GB files. 3000 kbps is the ideal middleground; not so uncompressed you have massive, 5 gig files but not so low quality that it's <2 gig with below average bitrate.

I do consneed that the one benefit of physical over digital is having an uncompressed/not too lossy copy of a film without it having to hog up storage space.
