It's certainly not exciting to see such brutal treatment of prisoners, but considering the state of violence and chaos that previously reigned in El Salvador under gang control, Bukele's approach may be the only effective path to restore peace and order. You can't fight bloody criminals with flowers and voltaire's quotes.
