3 years ago, I ran the ‘Australian Alps Walking Track’, a beautiful 700km route passing through the country’s highest terrain. Here are some stats: - it took my mate and I 16 days - carried all of our gear (10-14kg) - left 6 drop bags stocked with food - wore 1 pair of undies for 10 days straight (merino wool - IYKYK) - lost 5kg of body weight - raised $10k for an environmental conservation charity - convinced 3 of our mates to crew & film us along the route - climbed over 30,000 metres in total - rain jacket leaked, leading me to get seriously cold and then sick - saw at least 3 snakes per day - passed thousands of kangaroos and brumbies
