Reminds me of an apartment building I lived in. The back of the building had a zone like that called the green belt. All the balconies faced it so you could see nature. Used to watch ground hogs running around. It was really nice.

Many places like that around my neighborhood (mostly old people who garden a lot). Some houses have like 200 plants - looks nice but a ton of work probably
