My understanding is that they can see the traffic and what it is but not who, so PII privacy. But that is assuming that the first node you bounce off isn’t logging. That first node can see your IP so if it’s compromised then you are

Meh, IMO these are weak arguments, that the government funded tor and therefore we shouldn''t use it. US government funds a bajillion projects. And then even if that is the problem, what's the alternative? Should I just only use the Tor version on github and compile it myself?
