Crooked Platypus oh he was a nice guy really, paying me compliments on both sound and music. I think he'd have been embarrassed rather than angry tbh. An old hand taught me when I was starting out to take compliments gracefully. Guy from audience came up to me after our show to say thanks he'd really enjoyed my pl

Early Dove "Modesty could easily be an unintended put down" is an excellent perspective shift. I'm not good at taking compliments either, and I'm definitely going to try to keep this in mind.
Crooked Platypus I had to bite my tongue and just say, "Thanks" when someone actually effused praise on my guitar sound on a track, telling my how great it was to hear a proper Strat through a real Fender Twin, well mic'd up in a decent room in this day and age... it was an old Squier, with pickups replaced, straig

Early Dove If someone believes they can hear what brand of gear you’re using, then yeah, even trying to burst that bubble would probably have just resulted in an angry, defensive rant
If you are still living in any degree of pandemic isolation (define that for yourself as you wish), I'm curious about what's helping you cope (that doesn't involve breaking isolation / being around other people). I recently got a (tiny) Compact Flash card that I could use on my Christmas present from 2005, a Fostex MR-8 multitracker--so I decided to try a DAWless interpretation of an older song of mine. It was kinda refreshing to not fuckin' sequence everything and just play the damn notes.
If you don't understand why somebody is grieving for so long over something, consider yourself fortunate that you do not understand.
Thirsty Parrot This gave me a new perspective on my grief. If someone doesn’t understanding long grieving, they’re the unfortunate one, because they never had anything so good it was worth such grief.
Are there still people who have trouble with sci-fi concepts like being extradimensionally beyond spacetime? Because I simultaneously believe that 1995, 2004, and 2018 were all ten years ago
Hey fellow Covid Cautious people, how do you deal with overwhelming loneliness and despair? Because, y'know, everyone else is fully capable of dealing with these things and it's just me who doesn't know the one weird trick to coping with an absurd and horrific existence. #CovidCautious #Lonely
Crooked Platypus yes although I would pick hanging out with someone who uses Comic Sans any day. They strike me as being a bit internet clueless, and that's not a bad thing always
Eerie Gerbil I think the attitude toward comic sans has softened, in part due to people easing off their smugness (guilty as charged, here) and in part due to the fact that its annoying overuse was largely two excruciating decades ago
