By-the-way, is anyone still asking/demanding that TFG publish his tax returns?

I just watched the film The Zone of Interest. Much of my family vanished into those camps during the early 1940s. Over the years I have been contacted by others with my last name who are looking for traces of ones with our name who vanished. My grandmother always badgered every German with the queen.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Zone_of_Interest_(film)

I've seen a lot of terrible design choices, but this is one of the first ones, I've scene, that I think would actually kill me:

Tell me how this passed building code at either planning, building, or final inspection?

The verses of This Land Is Your Land which you didn't learn in elementary school, and which are never sung: "As I went walking I saw a sign there, And on the sign it said "No Trespassing." But on the other side it didn't say nothing. That side was made for you and me. In the shadow of the steeple www.woodyguthrie.org/Lyrics/This_Land.htm #patriotism

My favorite version of that song - a song that ought to be our National Anthem - was the version done by Sharon Jones (with our without the Dap Kings)

Gov. Gavin Newsom in Michigan on his meeting with Pres #Biden: "I left last night from the White House … had the opportunity to talk to the President for an hour, hour and a half — could have gone two-three hours. One might thus wonder which Biden, the one Newsom met or the one the rest of us saw at the "debate, will be answering that 3am phone call made famous in that Hillary C. ad from 2008.

The Gods of Mastodon went ahead and released a major security update to #Mastodon today, July 4, Independence Day -- one of the most major U.S. holidays, when families are out and about and administrators are unlikely to be around to apply the upgrade quickly as the scope of the issues becomes widely known. github.com/mastodon/mastodon/releases/tag/v4.2.10 THIS is one of the reasons why Mastodon will never be a major player, because it is being handled like an amateur toy, not a professional system for people to rely on for anything of any importance at all. I could never in g

Correct me if I am wrong, but this is merely the availability of the update, leaving it up to each administrator whether and when to deploy the update.

With regard to the notion of Biden withdrawing from the race for President. I would be totally happy if he did so with an explicit and strong endorsement of Kamala Harris as the nominee. (Harris was my first choice well before the primaries even began. I know that she has some rough edges, and al

Well, I think we can now move Dred Scott from from the top of the list of worst ever SCOTUS decisions.

I know. And I think that that requires name recognition.

I agree; that's why in my mind the pool of possible replacements is quite small. And it is risky - I wouldn't suggest doing it at all were it not that I more than strongly fear that Biden is doomed to lose.

The problem with Biden dropping out is that the Democrats have very few people who are nationally known by more than the folks who live and breathe politics, if not as a living or even a hobby than out of a sense of civic responsibility. My criteria for an alternative to Biden is a low bar - he/she must be able to beat TFG. I'm not looking for anything resembling "best" or "wisest"; I'm only looking for a winner.
