#OnThisDay, 26 July 1913, around 50,000 people - mostly women - rally in Hyde Park, London as part of campaigning for votes for women in Britain.
Some of the marchers had set out from Cornwall or Scotland six weeks earlier. Many of them had faced abuse and assault along the way.

#OnThisDay, 3 July 1918, Suze Groeneweg becomes the first woman elected to the Dutch Parliament. A social democrat, she supported people's education as well as equal rights for women. She served for 17 years.

#OnThisDay, 4 Jun 1919, the US Senate approved the 19th amendment, in theory granting all women the right to vote. It was ratified in August 1920.
But it took until 1965 to lift state level laws that denied many women their rights.

They were basically playing 'knock down ginger' on the Prime Minister. And were arrested for it.
