SimpleX is easily the most complex and byzantine application and protocol I’ve ever seen. The name gives away that they know the value and importance of simplicity, however.

Most publicly used communication systems are way more complex, objectively. SimpleX may be more complex than some simple open-source systems, but given the objective to compete with Signal, Telegram and WhatsApp, it is still too simple, in comparison, simply because of much less money... show more

You need to have v6.4-beta.4 version. If you created the link previously, it won't be automatically shortened - there is a button under the QR code to add a short link to it.

And the old link will continue to work. This short link is simply a reference to the container with full link, group profile and the key - see the post!

Are the chat group URL’s shortened as well? I see they are still quite long.

Yes! And you will also see group name before joining, and starting from 6.4.1 also group logo and welcome message.
